I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I believe that in order to help create change I must be willing to enter into an individual’s experience alongside them, by holding space free of judgement and control. I seek to provide an environment that will support self-exploration, self-awareness and self-acceptance. My focus in therapy is to help you recognize the strengths within yourself and develop new skills to effectively manage or overcome personal challenges.
I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults and adults. I consider the whole person-physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. I have extensive experience in working with trauma, attachment disorders, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, loss and grief, family systems, self-esteem/self-worth and identity issues.
I am trained in EMDR as well as Equine-Assisted EMDR and Equine Therapy. The horse, as a co-therapist, provides a unique experience for you to understand your patterns and dynamics within relationships, recognize your emotions, overcome trauma, practice mindfulness and self-regulation skills. Horses create a space of complete acceptance as you learn to become vulnerable and true to yourself.
Other areas in which I am trained include, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Brainspotting, ACT (acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
